April & May Updates

- Musical dress rehearsal schedule:
     Monday, April 29, 5:30-8:00pm - Periods 2 & 7.
     Wednesday, May 1, 5:30-8:00pm - Periods 5, 6, & 8.
Attendance at dress rehearsals is mandatory...students on the Gregory track and field team are expected to attend their musical rehearsal in lieu of any scheduled track meet.

- Musical performance schedule:
     Thursday, May 2, 8:15am - 8th Grade Chorus; 8th grade students are to arrive at school by 7:30am in munchkin costume (with Emerald City costume in tow).
     Thursday, May 2, 1:00pm - 6th Grade Chorus; 6th grade students are to bring all costume materials to school and report to the commons at 12:30pm.
     Thursday, May 2, 7:30pm - Periods 5, 6, & 8; students are to arrive at school by 6:45pm in munchkin costume (with Emerald City costume in tow).
     Friday, May 3, 8:15am - 7th Grade Chorus; 7th grade students are to arrive at school by 7:30am in munchkin costume (with Emerald City costume in tow).
     Friday, May 3, 7:30pm - Periods 2 & 7; students are to arrive at school by 6:45pm in munchkin costume (with Emerald City costume in tow).

- After each evening performance of the musical, there will be a pizza party for any chorus student who is interested in attending. Please print, fill out, and sign the attached permission slip if you would like to participate...the cost is $4.00, and the permission slip is due back by Friday, April 26.Parents, your help is needed for this! We are in need of a group of 3-5 parent helpers per night, as well as a lead party chairperson that can coordinate the party setup on both evenings. Please contact me for details if you are able and willing to assist!

- Our annual music department end-of-year celebration at Funway will take place on Friday, May 24. A detailed information sheet was sent home with students two weeks ago. The cost to attend is $10.00. We hope you can join us for a fun evening of roller skating, video games, bowling, mini golf, etc! If you are planning on attending, permission slips are due back by Friday, April 26; NO late slips will be accepted, so be sure to get your slip in on time!

- The members of the Gregory Men's Ensemble and Mixed Ensemble will be performing at the next STARS Breakfast on Tuesday, May 14. Students are to wear nice dress clothing, and report to the Gregory chorus room by 6:40am.

- The annual District 204 Fine Arts Festival will take place on Saturday, May 18. The following choral groups are scheduled to perform:
     7th Grade Chorus (performing with Neuqua Varsity Singers) - 10:00-10:20am; students are to report to the Neuqua orchestra room at 8:50am for warmup and rehearsal.
     6th Grade Chorus (performing with Neuqua Treble Choir) - 11:00-11:20am; students are to report to the Neuqua orchestra room at 10:00am for warmup and rehearsal.
     8th Grade Chorus (performing with Neuqua World Voices) - 2:20-2:40pm; students are to report to the Neuqua orchestra room at 1:10pm for warmup and rehearsal.
Gregory's extracurricular vocal groups will not be performing at the festival. Attire for the day is nice dress clothing.
