Welcome to Gregory Chorus 2026-27!

Welcome to the Gregory Middle School Choral Department!  The chorus offerings here are a significant part of our school curriculum and will enhance your middle school experience greatly.  The chorus program is designed to help each singer improve their own vocal skills, expand their musical understanding, and increase their personal growth through working together in class and in performances.

It is the goal for each chorus student to:

1.      Discover, appreciate and value their own talents, the talents of
         others and the beauty of all types of music.

2.      Improve skills in using their vocal instrument, learning music
         theory and reading skills, and general musical knowledge.

3.      Gain a desire to continually improve upon past performances.

4.      Experience self-fulfillment after having communicated to others
         through music.

5.      Experience music in a way that will bring lasting enjoyment and as
         an activity that can be continued long after leaving GMS.

In addition to all of these goals, we also love to have fun together in chorus!  Of course, it is expected that every student give their best effort and cooperation.  With all of us working together, it will be an exciting, inspiring, and rewarding year.

Fine Arts Festival - Saturday, May 16 at Neuqua Valley HS

Dear Gregory Chorus Families,

We are closing in on one of my favorite days of the school year for our musicians. The final curricular performance of the school year is at the annual District 204 Fine Arts Festival at Neuqua Valley HS on Saturday, May 16. ALL CHORUS STUDENTS will be performing that day alongside other middle & high school singers and, per the performance calendar distributed at the beginning of the school year, attendance is mandatory. The schedule for the day is as follows:

7th & 8th Grade Chorus - report to the Neuqua orchestra room by 10:20am; performance in the auditorium 11:20-11:40am.

6th Grade Chorus - report to the Neuqua orchestra room at 2:20pm; performance in the auditorium 3:20-3:40pm.

Attire for the performance is "nice dress clothing" (no Gregory music polo) - please no jeans, sweatpants, gym shoes, etc.

(Please note that Gregory's co-curricular ensembles—Concert Choir, Men's Ensemble, and Mixed Vocal Ensemble—do not perform at the Fine Arts Festival)

Parents: on the day of the festival, please drop off your student in the front Neuqua circle drive at door #5 (near the auditorium entrance); students can then follow signs inside for the orchestra room (warmup area). Singers: please begin committing songs to memory and working through problem spots at home by using the practice tracks posted in Google Classroom to assist you.
